A new paper reviews some of the reasons why I have been encouraging people to consider doing more with their muscles, to take weight lifting more seriously as an exercise option. It’s not only more efficient than people realize — great bang for buck — but challenging muscles is actually healthier than just raising your heart rate with aerobic exercise.
