Once upon a time, in Hell, I wrote a personal article about “globus,” a bizarre kind of chronic pain, a maddening sensation of a lump in the throat. That article earned a freakishly large audience, sustained since publication in late 2014. It was the first of my own tales of serious chronic pain, the beginning of a larger, ongoing story. But my globus struggle did have a happy ending, and so I just gave “A Lump in My Throat” one last good news update about my battle with that condition.
