Red wine: not just a migraine trigger

Paul Ingraham ARCHIVEDMicroblog posts are archived and rarely updated. In contrast, most long-form articles on PainScience.com are updated regularly over the years (see updates page).

The most notorious migraine headache trigger is red wine, and yet red wine seems to trigger non-migraine headaches just as much. A 2017 paper reports that 22% of patients believe their headaches are triggered by alcohol regardless of whether their problem is with migraines or tension headaches. Fascinating.

There’s more to this topic than meets the eye. See my new chapter about it in my headache guide.
