Remember, although the nature of sore spots in muscle is still amazingly unclear, muscle tissue is definitely sensitive (see Graven-Nielsen et al), and can be a potent source of nociceptive pain (pain originating from noxious stimuli). A few internal tissues are insensate (cartilage, lung, brain), but not muscle tissue.
