If you cannot bear the unknown, if pushing half-blind toward an always mutable image of truth becomes not a celebration of the mysterious, but rather a fear of bumping around in the dark, coupled with a refusal to utter the words ‘I don’t know,’ then go back to brightly lit rooms, never question what is written in the science books (including this one), and do not make science your profession. ‘I don’t know’ is the best place for a scientist to be.
